Hi all, I fulfilled a long time dream on Thursday by purchasing a 1987 Rickie 330 in jetglo. I still can't believe that I own one! It's the exact guitar I've wanted. I had just mentioned a few days before to a friend who was borrowing my topboost for recording that it would be a shame for me to sell the amp(I was considering letting my 1963 rear panel top boost go) without completing the dream of having a Rickenbacker and Vox AC30 together. And then there it is in the classified ads... and just a few blocks away! It's presently strung with .010's and I really love the action. It's amazing and doesn't buzz. The guitar has some chips in the paint which my dear wife will touch up with her steady hands, other than that it plays wonderfully. Production date is Jan. '87. Are there any issues I should be concerned about with this era of 330?
It certainly has inspired my song writing again and the the Vox and my Fender Blues Junior are producing wonderful as of late. I will be a little short of funds for a while, but entirely worth the pain for the gain!
Anyway, I look forward to reading the messageboard often.

Hi Ron, the only issue I can think of with the 330 is that you'll want another one....& another etc. etc! Also woman seem to be great at touching up guitars, 'cause they own a secret weapon....nail varnish. It's great for touch ups. I must get around to trying a vox, but being a commited Marshall stack man, I have never quite got used to the combo sound, let alone an open back combo sound.
I hope you enjoy the forum as much as I do & I probably speak for all...welcome.

Excellent!

Only "issue" - don't spend a lot of time fiddling with the 5th knob. . . it's just a redundant neck volume.

Plug in & enjoy!

Welcome Ron, I think the Rons are catching up on the Jeffs around here. I got the guitar of my dreams last year, a 340FG, after wanting one for two decades.

Well I just got my 360 12 string. Fireglo of course with the toasters. I ordered the vintage case too.

Welcome aboard. Congratulations on a purchase that you will likely have the rest of your life. How many things do we buy that last that long?
