I recently joined this site, I have loved Ricks since the early 60s (yep the Beatles and the Who) I have a 1971 model 360 with slanted frets (bought in 1972) and a new 4003 bass, both Fireglow. I will try to post pictures when I get a chance. Thanks to Jim Glen (fellow Active Bass member) for introducing me to this site.

Welcome Jaime. So, does the slanted frets work as advertised?

I don't know what the slanted frets were adverised as doing. But they make it easier to play bar chords.

I think that was the idea, how is it for soloing?

Welcome Jaime As for the Slanted fret models that was the idea to make the frets conform to the natural angle of the wrist therefore an easier to play instrument. For some this worked but for most players it never caught on since most of us play more than one make of a guitar.

It's not determental to playing lead but I have a strat more for that. I have been playing the bass now for the last 4 year, I picked up the strat recently and could not believe how small and close the strings felt.
