On the front cover of Sgt.Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album,I've spotted a lot of famous celebrities on the large wall mural behind the fab four. Here are some of the celebrities I've spotted:Laurel & Hardy:Mae West:Tony Curtis:George Washington:Tarzan:WC Fields:and a younger version of The Beatles themselves. Can you spot any other famous people on this album cover?

Marlon Brando, Marilyn Monroe, Sonny Liston (wax figure of boxer) Bob Dylan, Stuart Sutcliff, Fred Astaire.
I believe Mae West was left off the cover. When the Beatles asked the various artists for permission to use their images, she requested royalties; they pulled her out before printing.
Many more besides those mentioned so far.

Speaking of WC...
He was an avowed athiest. As things go, he found himself ultimately on his deathbed - obviously in deteriorating health. A good friend stopped by to visit, but was taken aback when he spotted WC sitting upright in his bed studying the Bible.
"Bill, what are you doing reading the Bible?!!" his friend asked.
In that classic WC Fields voice, he replied, "I'm looking for a loophole."

When I was a kid (6 or 7) my parents had a copy of Sgt. Pepper that had a bunch of cardboard cut-outs of things like moustaches, monocles, medals and hats that came in the sleeve with the record. One night my dad took them all out and dressed me up like Sgt. Pepper. I still have the pictures...
I wonder how collectable that pressing was.

I actually bought my copy of Sgt. Pepper in London, and it came with a booklet that tells who everyone is. I'll try and scan it tomorrow and post it for you guys if you like.

They also were planning to put Hitler.
If you look closely in shots of the picture session you can spot him.
I'm guessing they kept him out for moral reasons.
