Balance of 12 string

I had a 456/12 (which I regret parting with, for many reasons...) and my biggest complaint about it was that the headstock was so heavy that it would instantaneously point to the floor if I ever stopped supporting it with my left hand.

Now I'm thinking about getting a 12 string to compliment my 330/6. I'm wondering, are some 12 string models more well balanced than others?

I imagine that the 330/360 models would have larger and thus heavier bodies to offset the weight of the extra tuners, more so than 610/620/660s, but I'm not sure. Anyone else encounter this problem? Any advice?

My 660/12 is perfectly balanced.

660/12s are awesome. I'm addicted to RICs with small bodies.

My 660/12 is sigificantly neck heavy. On the whole it seems to weigh more than my 330 too.

But it's still my favorite guitarImage

I have a 450/12 which is fine. On 12s, it might be a good idea to have a strap that doesn't slide about on your shoulder, just to help.

mmm mmm crunchy!

I chose that originally as an e-mail address. we were studying the diet of worms in the reformation, and I figured my students would find that easy to remember.

I think my 360/12CW is a little headstock-heavy, but really nothing to complain about at all. I figure any imbalance is probably due to the ultra-light body they carved for that series, a feature which I absolutely love.

The 660/12 is indeed beautifully balanced.

I'm bringing back this old thread because it is the only one I can find on the topic.

I have a 610/12 that I bought recently. It's nice, but it sure tips to the left a lot. My 620/6, which of course is a very similar guitar, does not. I'm thinking that I need a higher friction strap to keep the tippage in check. I'm using Souldier straps now, which are really nice. Any ideas for a strap that may keep the balance in check?

Thanks!
