Measurement needed

Could somebody give me a measurement on the distance from the bridge pickup to strings for a current model 4003. Mine is a 2003 and I took my cover off and forgot to measure before I started. I would like it back to the factory setup again.

I've had my 4003 for a year now, and finally took the cover off. I am a fingers player, and left the cover on so I would become better with the pick. Well, I don't feel the same with the pick and can't get into playing with one, even though I love the sound. Anyway, without the cover it is a lot more natural to play, and the obtainable sounds are more diverse, as I now have the option of plucking directly over the bridge pickup.

The cover on is a great look, but some things just have to be sacrificed!

Thanks for any help.

I took the covers off both my 4003s and set the bridge pickup height to give me a similar output to the neck pickup - never bothered to take measurements I'm afraid so this post is a little pointless except that I agree with you that it's far easier to play without the cover

there is no absolute number ... the closer it is to the strings the louder, growlier, and more distorted it will be ... I like mine as close as possible ... how can you tell if is too close ... the strings hit the pole pieces ... get a phillips screw driver and play around a little ...

A good guideline to start with I have seen is to depress the last fret of a given string, and set the height to 1/8 inch. Then check the height relative to all the other strings and go from there. It has worked well for me.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I'll tinker with it tonight.
