No You Can't Go To The Factory and Buy A Guitar.
All companies who build most any product sell wholesale to Music Stores who sell retail or discount price them to the general public. This is free enterprize. If we cut out the middle man then we have more unemployed people and more welfare and, well you get the picture. Go to your favorite music store and bargin for the guitar you want.

Dale, If I could FIND them in a store, I would! Image In this era of corporate mega-stores, they just don't have the numbers in stock, lest they lose valuable floor space for Squiers and Epiphone starter models. And if they DO have one, it's up so high on the wall that you can barely even see it. I've rarely seen 4003's for sale new, and that one time was about a year ago.

"If we cut out the middle man then we have more unemployed people and more welfare and..."

Isn't that the modern way of doing business these days? Image

Steve I was at motor city two days ago and they have four 4003's on the wall. A fireglo, mapleglo, midnight blue, and a mapleglo. The mapleglo was priced at $1038 the others were slightly higher like $1080 as I recall.

Ken, that was the store I was referring to! I was blown away to see they had new ones in stock. But I am surrounded by GC stores over here that have NOTHING. They have 200 Fenders and Warwicks and Ernie Ball SUBs, but no Ricks.

Jason,
Maybe a road trip up to Vegas would be in order, you could go see Ed Roman's store, he'd not only have new 4003's but he's also got the Lemmy" special edition as well.

I wonder if the RIC factory has the same smell as when you open the case for the first time. Image

I don't think so, 'cause if it did, you'd never get any work done!
