To John Lennon, his memory, his family, his message, his music and the world's loss.

I prefer to think of today as the anniversary of his birth and not of his death.
Just me, I guess...

I remember when I heard the news on the radio, it was in the morning, I was getting ready for school and having breakfast, and it came on. I turned to my mom and said "I'm not going to school today", and she said "OK".
I went over to a friends house and we listened to Beatles LP's all day. I remember it like it was yesterday.

I heard it about 11:00 at night right before the news. That day one of my bubbles burst.

I was hanging out in a buddy's dorm room and reading a copy of the Playboy interview. I had just read his comments about being excited about playing again and planning to tour in the future. I was feeling very happy. Then someone stuck their head in the door and told us the news they heard on Monday Night Football.
I was in shock for days. I couldn't listen to anything from Double Fantasy or even Plastic Ono Band for years after that. I'm feeling sick remembering it now.
Now we play Watching the Wheels in our band and it feels OK.
