I am watching that one as a potential project. The neck crack appears to be trussing damage but it is hard to tell for sure from the pics. It is otherwise a bit of a mess It really should not sell for much more than $400 in that condtion but this is Ebay we are talking about. That Toadies bass with the wild paint job sold for more than $1400.

Is that TRC real? On what basses did Rick do that?

Looks like a piece of brass with somebodys handwriting on it.

It looks like the standard VRI back-painted gold type that has been shortened to fit the small headstock of a 70's 4001.

I think the TRC is homemade brass. Look at the edge, looks solid. I'm not thinking this bridge mod is the worst I've seen. The headstock wave has been reshaped, look how close the original screws are to the edge on the back. Will make for a noticable neck repair unless painted a solid color. This thing better go cheap if it's to be worth it.

"The truss cover and pick guard are brass, which I have never seen on this model bass before."

Taken from the listing itself. SO, the TRC is brass, but most likely NOT stock!

Who actually reads the description?! Damn, you are setting a bad precedent here. :-)
