"Case in Point..." (plush query, plus 325 size

Actually, two questions... First, we recently acquired a JG 325v59 (previously owned, beautiful condition) and I've noticed the interior of the silver case is a navy blue pile, and is different from the "luminous" blue plush in the case for our 360/12v64.
It's not a complaint, as both cases are great, but I must admit the "luminous" plush is a bit more impressive! Now, the 360 was manufactured in 1997; the 325 in 1996. Does the year make any difference in the type of pile used, or is it a matter of the different model?
Second question: the 325 is a bit thicker in dimension than the 360 (and I know that this is as it's supposed to be), yet the cases are the same "depth"... yielding a somewhat tighter fit for the 325; nothing serious, but it's definitely a little bit of a "squeeze" to close the case, as opposed to the "just right" feel of the 360.
Does anyone know if this is completely "normal" (i.e: has it always been this way)? As we purchased the 325 second-hand, it's at least possible that something got switched along the way... although it's obviously an authentic Rick case, so a "switch" wouldn't seem to make sense...
I appreciate hearing any thoughts !
Cheers,
Gene
