If anyone has this finish, would you please tell me what you think of it. I really love this color and I am thinking of buying one, but I haven't seen the finish in person.
I need first hand knowledge please

I saw one just yesterday actually. It is strong brown, very chocolatety in person. In pictures it looks a bit like autumnglo or walnut but in person it is very different. I like it.

I have a 2003 Montezuma Brown 4003 & it's the most beautiful finish of any guitar I have owned. I have 2 other "sunburst" type finishes: A vintage sunburst Gibson Thunderbird & a walnut Rickenbacker 3001 & the Montezuma Brown blows them all away.
Sometimes I just find myself staring at it!
This pic does it NO justice:

my only comment is that I wish that the spelling was correct. Moctezuma.

"... wish that the spelling was correct. Moctezuma"
Well the Rickenbacker name itself was Americanized in spelling... so at least they are consistent.

Typical pictures show the middle as yellow with a band of red then brown. Those colors are created by the lighting in which the pictures are taken. It's really maple and chocolate as Ted mentioned. Very unique color combo and easily the nicest in my colllection.

I love mine too, and ordinarily I'm not a big fan of bursts. And I agree with Mike Carr, indoor pictures usually don't do it justice.

I have a 350v63 in Monty Brown(the only way I can spell it) and it is beautiful! Although it doesn't really have a red band in the burst when you look at it, it does have some red in the chocolately brown, and so it tends to make me stare at it indefinitely! I highly recommend it, and I like it better than some other brown bursts that Rickenbacker has used in the past....

That's a pretty one. Just think what it would look like with checkerboard binding!

Bob, as with the venerable Autumnglo finish, there are variations in how Monty Brown comes out - it depends on the person who paints the guitar. It is by far my favourite finish (that's why I own two) but if you want one too you better hurry up since the finish will be discontinued on 12/31!!!! Good luck hope ya score one
The variations in the MB finish are exemplified in my two Monty's:

A beautiful set Rumbush. I agree, it is the variations that tend to make each of these instruments unique. Your instruments illustrate this.
