Mark or Peter :
Inside my control cavity of my 4001, there are a couple of signitures that are unreadible, and one printed as "Arroyo." I was curious on who these people were, and what jobs did they do? FYI-My bass was made in February of 1976. Serial# PB1064.

The signatures are from the Paint prep crew and the painters or binding scrapers.

THe wood shop guys signed off on joints that get glues ...never to be seen again .Some of these are funny .Too bad they are covered .

Inside the bridge area on basses ,in the 1970's you find Maria II this is the second coat of paste wood filler .Maria did this for years .Both the first and second coats.Cecilia also did this ,but only if there was more than usual or Maria was gone.

Inside the control cavity you will find 'LC' ...that was Laura Clark .She worked at Rick on and off from the early 1960's.She was the fastest scraper of binding that I have ever seen. She could do a 4001 incredibly fast .She also was the head of the 'wing' buffers. This was the crew of women that finished up all the sections of the instruments that the wide buffing wheels could not be used on .
Her signature means she scraped the binding.

In the prep area the longtime leadman back there was Bob Rader. You will find lots of different sanders names ...there is no way for me to remember all of them.
My name is inside lots of instruments.I was the leadman in this area and performed many tasks of all kinds of things .I was the Quality control guy for a long time .
Dave Florio was the fastest sander we had when I worked there.
There are so many people that worked in that area and time ,but these I do remember;Cery,Siebert,Rader,Florio,Arnquist,Medina,Dan Henry,Chapman,Waterbury,Blier,Arroyo,Valesquez just to name a few.

Thanks for the drill. Hopefully this will be of assistance to many Rickenbacker owners who just have to see what is in the cavity.
