I just recently purchased a 325v63. I also own a 320. I noticed that the bridge on the 325 can be moved forward and backward while the bridge on the 320 doesn't budge. I thought that perhaps the 325 should have a moveable bridge because of the tremelo but I'm not sure about that. Should I have it looked at (and possibly repaired)?

Also the 325 has a few tuners that have some play in them. I have several guitars and have never had that problem with any of them so I don't think it's the way the strings are wound around the pegs. Should I have the tuners looked at as well?

If I need to have this guitar repaired does anybody know of any good Ric techs in the Boston area? Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

Sounds like you have one of the newer type of bridge assemblies with slots on the base on your 325v63 Donna. You'll find it handy for getting the intonation right if you use 12's instead of 13's on your 325. For your 320 you may have to remove the springs from behind the E and A strings if you use the 12's. Not a huge problem.

It's been mentioned a number of times that the 'Ric Delux' reissue tuners can have a little play in them....but it seems normal. As someone noted in a previous thread, make sure you 'tune up' to each note(not 'down'). If things are really loose you should contact your Ric dealer while the guitar is still under warranty.

I've always had good luck with Jim Mooradian, upstairs from Cambridge Music in Porter Square. He put vintage pickups in a 360-12 for me in the late 80's and found a NOS Vox treble booster for it. (this was before the days of the McGuinn re-issue!) He's a great guy. I guess he used to make some famous basses at one point.
