Hello everyone.
Is there any way to remove the pichup cover on the 4001v63?
I seems to get in the way, I have opened it up and it looks like it can't be done.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Add a aluminum spacer under the horseshoe and it will be just fine.

There's a couple of posts on this subject here. I used washers as a spacer- it works just fine.

Take the pickup off the bass.

Remove the chrome surround
Undo the two height screws

flip the pickup assembly with the plate facing you .You will find screws holding the coil and Horshoes in place.Undo one side then the other .Take your time and be careful .Don't pull on the grey wires.

measure the thickness of the horshoes....you don't need this in thousanths of an inch ...close enough will do it .Go to the hardware store and find something that will be the same thickness.Plastic could work ,wood could work ,washers could work ....you get the idea?

Reassemble the unit .Plug in and make sure it works before you re-install the strings.Tap on the polepices ....you should get the clunking sound .

Re-install the strings ....save the horshoes ...you may want them later .
