Are you winding us up?
Personally, I always thought that Dread Zeppelin (early incarnation, with the Elvis guy) was the last word on tributes of ANY ilk.

I was just told that Beatlemania was here in town for NYE, and I missed them. I understand they are really good with the costume changes and all that. Has anyone been to Abbey Road on the River? It's held annualy in Cleveland. I wanted to go last year and missed that too.

Rain and Fab Four on the West Coast are both fantastic (I highly recommend going out of your way to see them both!) and I've seen quite a few Trib bands over the years including my own!

1964 The Tribute does an all round great job during their shows. I've seen them many times here on the east coast and they always deliver a great performance. The guy that portrays Lennon does a terrific job with his mannerisms, wit and of course his singing. The other guys are very good to especially the George and Ringo characters. They really have the look and playing techniques. The only one that IMO is a bit weak is the guy playing Paul. He's a bit chuncky and sings too nasally (noticeable on leads) for Paul, but he sounds good on harmonies. Anyway, all in all a very good time to be had by all!

Alex, I've seen Beatalica, around here they call them Beeralica. You haven't heard anything until you've heard Michelle played through ten Marshalls and ten SVT's.

I remember seeing a non-imitator tribute act called "The Baja Bugs," who play only the really early stuff, from the Hamburg/Cavern era. They don't attempt to look or sound like the real thing, but they do a good job on the material, and they look like they're having a good time at it. Definitely worth a look/listen, if they're still around and you can find them. Not sure where they're from.

There was a really great tribute band downunder a few years ago, i think they were called "where's Ringo?", not 100% sure, but they were a 3-Piece with a drum machine, hence the name! They did mostly early Beatles, and did a great job of it as well.

Haha! Great name and hook.
Since the question has been asked:
Have you noticed that you never saw Yassir Arafat and Ringo Starr appearing together?
Or, now that Arafat has passed on, Ringo hasn't been seen anywhere?
And, in a final paradoxical occurence, now there appears a Ringo Starr superhero character?
Is it because an Arafat superhero would be too politically insensitive?
Inquiring minds want to know!

I heard The Beatles themselves were pretty good! I could never get into the tribute bands. I never got 40 year old guys pretending to be 20 year old Beatles. Thats just me.
