In the quest to get up the cash to buy a Laredo, I'm looking at every cash possibility...loose change, old kids clothes (not really )...

I have the original PU's from my 1966 Fender Mustang. I put in some DiMarzio's about 12 years ago or so, and as I recall there was a little routing to get at least one of them in. The PU's have winding dates of 11/29/1965 and 12/8/1965 (I'm only 1 month older than the older of these two PU's ).

I'm not trying to sell them here...not sure I want to. But if I were to sell the PU's, does anyone know what they might be worth, or know of somewhere where I could find out?

This is gonna sound pretty obvious but, watch similar ebay auctions and you'll get a fair idea of their going price...if you want to see what the high end vintage parts dealers are trying to sell them for...try koz-ax's http://www.kozaxs.com/pages/parts.html

IMHO Koz-ax's would probably ask as much as $250 and be willing to wait years for a buyer, but I think $100 to $150 is what you could expect on eBay. Never know until you try, though.

I saw a couple of supposed vintage Fender PU sets on the Bay, all asking way higher, and all with no bids...tells you something.

Interesting to hear numbers at least withing what I was figuring. Considering that I paid $90 for the guitar (in 1985), put twice that into the new PU's, if I got $100 out of the old pickups it would rate as a coup in my eyes!

Wow! What some people think is the worth of things I'll never figure out.

I think I'll probably put these PU's on the bay as soon as I can get some digital pix made up...thinking that I'll start the bidding at $50 and have a reserve at about $100.
