Does anybody know why Ric strings are 10-42.5 instead of the standard 10-46? I have recently tried pyramid strings & quite frankly the Ric strings, in my opinion, sound better. The only problem with Ric strings, is if you're a heavy player like me, it is easy to oscilate the low strings out of tune, while the heavier bottoms don't do this. Having spoken to Ric players, I know this lighter bottom end puts a lot of players off from using them.
Couldn't they be offered in 'original' & 'standard' gauges?

To answer your question, our standard gauging was chosen to balance the string tension more evenly, at least for the type of string we offer.

Thankyou for taking the time Mr. Hall. I will try to get a set to try. However, it is the compressed round wound that I think are the stars. In my opinion, I think they are amongst the finest strings you can buy & seem to be reasonably under rated. Is there a reason that these are not available in 46s. Please, please could you consider this gauge. It would be all I would ever use & probably would not be alone.

Having thought about Mr Halls reply...I understand the reasoning behind it & I have to admit, they really do ring very nicely. When I posted above 'Is there a reason that these are not available in 46s', which Mr Hall clearly answered, I suppose what I meant was can you (or we) get these compressed round wounds in 46s? Could this be an option at some stage?

strings for there guitars. Kenny H emailed
me back and said stick with Rick strings on
Rickenbacker guitars. He said that they siund
the best on the guitar. They are the only strings
that I will use on a Rick. I have tried others
but I didn't like them.
