Looks real to me or rather what's left of it, looks like it had the varnish scraped off the neck also.

The inlays and fingerboard don't look right. It has that expensive copy look IMHO. Maybe it is just a bad pic?

Maybe, the neck's dark like my 79 mapleglo which has has it's varnish taken off for a fret job at some point. It's not a very close picture, we need the Fakenbacker expert again, Sérgio!!

Kind of a mystery. He says early '80s which would be the wrong timeline for the neck pickup.(toaster and spacing from the end of the fingerboard). The fingerboard looks to dark, like many copies we've seen. Not sure about the inlays, I'd also say its probably a refin, if you look, there is no discoloration in the finish where the treble pickup surround would have been. We all know how Ricks like to grow yellowish with age.

Right you are Scott. The 1/2" spacing would only have been possible on basses made prior to '76 unless the body was altered.

The headstocks small and it's got three Grovers on it also, I didn't read it. I think it's real. This guy just doesn't know what year it is.

Guys, wake up - that's a fake you're looking at!
Grover tuners? Where? And what about the round string holes on the tailpiece, the dot position markers on the pickguard, the dark fingerboard, the inlays not as close to the frets as on a real Rick, the slightly wider 'skunk' stripe?
Here's a couple of pics:

I saw the dots for the controls on the pickguard and the wrong fingerboard right away! Go directly to jail, you guys!

The jury finds the defendant guilty as charged. How will judge Hall pass sentence?
