Badass bridge-- yes or no?

Ok. I have a badass (original one) bridge. Actually, it has been standing here for quite a while. I can't remember why i bought it but that's not important anyway. Thing is, i was wondering: I have a spare bridge, I have a spare ric, so why not? I thought i could chisel the bridge cavity until the bridge fits and save some bucks. Hahaha, no, i didnt mean that ;). I have a friend that will do a pro job for free. SO the bottomline is, is it worth it? I dont want to dig a hole on a bass just to have to cover it up again. Plus i dont have a reason to really do it. I mean, i just have the bridge sitting here and the bass sitting there and free installation; just a coincidence. Woudl you guys do it? has anyone? And where do you get one of those "surroundings" to cover the original bridge routing?

I would put it on ebay.

hmmmmmmmmm. I guess the only reason i haven't gotten rid of the bridge is the "what if" factor.. I've had it for quite a while now and, well, nothing. So, maybe, that's what i will end up doing, unless someone raves about tha badass...

the Ric bridge/tailpiece setup looks and sounds better than the badass bridge ... the badass is easier to adjust ...

Well Luis, it's like this(ebay), It's YOUR badass bridge(ebay) and you can do whatever(ebay) you like with it!(ebay) Just don't expect(ebay) a lot of support(ebay) from the guys here on the (ebay) forum..If I were YOU(ebay), I'd sell it(ebay) and get a real RIC bridge(ebay) and make it cool(ebay) again!! Just my(ebay) 2 cents..... Image

Regards,
Chris

Hmmm...Sounds like the wrong model BadAss for a Ricky. The right one doesn't require any routing. If you had the right one, it might be cool to also re-fin the bass in black and make a "Geddy Lee" limited edition. You'd have to do the 1/2" neck pickup spacing and acrylic truss rod cover thing too to make it authentic.

Sell it on Ebay, throw it away, put it in a sock and beat someone over the head with it, but whatever you do, don't put it on your rick.

The original BadAss is the wrong one for a Ric anyway. You need the BadAss II, so you don't have to rout or drill new holes.

I have a 1979 jetglo 4001 on ebay right now that will take any bad *** bridge quite nicely ... some of the late 70's 4001 basses would adjust out different than others ... this one has a real straight flat neck and I had to crank out the bridge high to get the string up off the 20th fret ... pretty much any bridge could work on this bass ... my issue with the badass is it doesn't seem to resonate quite as well as a ric tailpiece ...

ok, im talking about the RED bass (as in redneck minus the red fretboard)I guess i{ll probably just give away the badass. I mean, I cant even remember how much I paid for it.. I'll probably ebay it or just give it away to someone that likes the original badass.

Opinions are overwhelming AGAINST the badass.

Thanks a lot for all the responses.. I guess the badass will be acting as a paperweight before i ebay ot off for 20 bux or so ;) thanks again everyone!@
