One of the many things i loved about the Beatles initial onslaught in '64 as a 9 year old was the bubble gum cards. TO THIS DAY I can't smell bubblegum w/out thinking of those cards. Several of my friends and I collected them. Seems like they were a nickel a pack. I remember a new kid in school brought his collection to school one day- a stack about 4 inches high, which was a lot! Naturally, he had them all together with a couple of rubber bands. I'd never seen so many! I thought i was cool because i had about 50 of them. He also had a white plastic Beatles loose-leaf notebook, so he was instantly popular! As i recall, my mother sold my cards at a yard sale about 3 years later. I specifically remember the card picturing the Fabs bald! Trick photography, naturally. Does anyone know what year they stopped making them? I don't recall seeing any pics after the HARD DAY'S NIGHT era. Here I am-50 years old, getting excited about Beatle bubblegum cards! You should see the smile on my face!

The only ones I've seen is in the Lennon Legend book.
They have 4 of 'em in there, cool shots of John.

I got this on my computer... Thought I'd post it...

Ha! That's the one! I remember being shocked until someone told me it was trick photography. Thanks for posting it!

Man, I stared at those cards for hours when I was in grade school! I still have several where their instruments are featured.

My brothers had multiple sets of those cards. Unfortunately our mom, being a good Catholic, burned them when the "Jesus" stuff happened with John.Image
