Hey Guys, please excuse my ignorance, but what is the difference between a 4001C63 and a 4001V41? Thanks for all your information!

I can't wait to get my hands on one to find out but this is what has been said around here. The C64 has an upside-down headstock for starters. The treble pickup was reworked since the V63. It is said that the treble pickup of the C64 balances better with the neck pickup and the tone is a bit different. The neck profile is reported to be thinner, perhaps more like the 60's vintage basses. There may be other subtle shaping differences as well.

So then the differences are physically obvious? Again, excuse my ignorance, but I hadn't heard about the two different instruments until I came to this site...

The headstock is the most apparent difference on the C64. The tuners are the old style nickel plated type rather that the bright chrome of the V63.

Henny,
Just Do It!
I'm saving up for a FG V68! I know it won't happen any time soon, but it will probably take that long to get enough cash built up, and to let the purchase of my V63 wear off of my wife!
Last night she told me I better make alot of money in this new band to pay for all the stuff I'm buying. I told her I wasn't doing it for the money. I'm doing it for the stuff!

Haha, right on, Kevin!
I think I might take the plunge once a certain Cii is sorted out.

You're expecting restraint here !!!
A Firegllo c64 sounds very nice, or as Kevin says, a v68, Fireglo of course.
