My other new guitar but not a Ric

In my first post post on this site I told how when I was a kid I had a Ric and a Mosrite Celebrity,and how I had to sell them,well on NewYears Eve I purchased a new Ric 360-6,but was looking for a nice Mosrite Celebrity.Well just last week I found just the right one on E-bay,it's a 1967 Mosrite Celebrity #3 in sun burst and it's in FANTASTIC shape!!! It only has two very small spots where it is checked each spot is smaller than a dime,and it has just a few scratches on the upper cutaway from playing with a pick.The pots were another story they were filthy,I don't think the guitar was played much because the neck and fretts show no sings of ware at all.I hav'nt polished it yet because I thought I'd try finessit-2 on it before I polish it that might take away the few light scratches it has what do you guys think or can you recommend something else!?I beleave all the good guitars made then were finished with nitro-cellulous laquer.

Yeah, Finesse-It #2 is great for this, especially on nitrocellulose. Follow up with a good wax.
How about some "before and after" pics?

Thanks Jingle jangle, they're calling for a foot of snow here tonight and tomorrow so thats the best time to polish the Mosrite out.I'll take some pic of it before and after,then I'll try and figure out how to get them posted.

Oh, man, deadeye, that thing is cool and really odd, too. It's nice to see that all vintage Mosrites didn't make it to Japan...But I guess they just want Ventures models, huh?

Yeah,
I think the love affair in Japan is primarily between the Ventures,and the Ventures model Mosrite.and ofcourse Nokie Edwards!!!Mosrite is best known for the Ventures Model but they made plenty of other models as well.My son is 28 yrs old and has never before seen a Mosrite until I got this one,I asked him what he thought of it after he played it and his discription was,'It's very Rickenbackerish",it has a thin neck with tiny fretts(called speed fretts,the neck is very fast),much like a Ric,and after all Semie Moseley got his start working for Rickenbacker!!

I've always wanted one of those! I was a big Ventures fan when I was learning to play, and learned a few songs from listening to my parents' LPs. I always felt like the Ventures model was a cliche though, and loved hollowbodies, so the Celebrity seemed like a good fit.
Does anybody know anything Mosrite Gospels? They seem to be pretty agreeable to what I like as well.

A Mosrite Gospel is essentually a Mosrite Celebrity,when Semie Moseley lost the rights to the Mosrite name he produced the Celebrity's under the Gospel name.For more info go to Tyms Mosrite page.
