MapleGlow Finish Question

Does anyone know what kind of finish is applied to the MapleGlow versus say FireGlow. It appears that my c64MG has some kind of clear coat applied. I was just wondering if the same top layer of finish is used on all model Rics.

It's all the same stuff- conversion varnish. If you're speaking of the 4001C64S, it's just the matte formula.

this conversion varnish over time yellows how do you work out how this affects the colour over a period of time, for example as the new colour for this year is blueburst will this mean it will eventually turn a greeny shade of blue ? what about colours like silver and the blueboy ? i seem to recall somewhere a mention of accelerated yellowing on future models ? are colours before production treated to varnishing with accelerated ageing to determin how the colour will look after a period of time ? do all varnishes yellow ?

Some of the 1980's Silver finish instruments tend to turn a shade of green that may sound undesirable, however, I have grown to like it very much.
