Hello Mark: The 1st string side, top corner of the nut on one of my 'other' guitars (J-160E) is cut pointed and sharp so that when I'm playing chords such as Fdim or F#dim my index finger is getting scraped up. I don't know what the nut material is, I'm guessing some kind of plastic. What would be the best tool to use to round off that corner? And are there any hidden problems here in what looks to be a relatively simple task? I'm a little klutzy in the Mr. Fixit dept. .

You could use an emery board or finger nail file...so you won't scratch anything you don't want to ...use a piece of masking tape ...place it on your pants leg first ,this removes some of the stickiness ,then lay it against the nut and smooth over the edge .

WARNING!!! Don't go nuts doing this !
I have seen reputable repairman cause havoc with too much rounding .

Just remember ...easy to remove ...hard to replace
