Pretty big starting bid, especially considering the wonky tuners!

Yeah, the MB is too high. He's trying to get a slight bit more than it's real value. I've had two 3001's and a 3000 and I've never seen one other than autmnglo -- all others were refins. Any guesses to whether fireglo was an option?

Hmmmmm Fireglo ..... looks nice but I agree that the MB is too high, if that were BIN, maybe. !! Not sure if it's a refinish though.

That would look great next to my 78 3001 - he is swinging for the fences with that opening bid though...

I don't know about swinging for the fences with the opening bid. It does look to be in nice shape. I've been keeping track of what 3001's go for on Ebay. Here's what I've tracked:

1976 Autumnglo $917.05 on 06/17/2004
1977 Walnut $560.00 on 09/21/2004
unknown year Jetglo $963.00 on 11/01/2004
1976 Autumnglo $785.00 on 11/12/2004
1978 Walnut $701.00 on 12/15/2004
1977 Fireglo $591.34 on 12/19/2004

Hay if people wanna pay that much, more power to 'em!
If I could get a grand for mine I'd probably sell it (well, not really!)

But from your examples, the average sale price is about $752. The savvy ebay seller might start out with a little lower opening bid to get the ball rolling. Plus it isn't stock.

Of course I got mine for $350....

I got my satin walnut finished 3001 a few years ago for $408.00. It was a bit rough so I eventually restored it and, after discovering 3000's, sold it for $677.00 last year. I saw a 3001 go to some guy in Japan a couple of years ago for...get this...$1425.00!

It sold for over $1000! I just don't understand the attraction.

Fireflo, Ted. Either it is original(I think they were all autumnglo) or not.

Come to think of it, most of the ones I have seen were Autumnglo. I have also seen 1 MG, 1 JG, and only 1 FG.
