I recently bought my first RIC, a 2004 turquoise Model 33o. I understand that this color has been discontinued thus making this a possible collectable in years to come. Is that a true statement? Comments please...

Congrats and welcome aboard!
Yes, it was discontinued as of 12/31/03 -- yours was made from an order placed prior to that. As a regular color, it was never nearly as popular as Jetglo, Fireglo and Mapleglo so time will tell if it becomes collectable. But I think it's one of RIC's best colors ever.

not so collectable that Id stop playing it.
I wouldnt call it an investment piece, year and model play more in to colectability then does color rarity.
A rare color is just the icing on the cake when you find a rare guitar.
Just saying, keep in mind it is still a run of the mill 2004 330.

Welcome to the forum Larry. Take my advice & get a gold TRC & pickguard, along with vintage knobs....it looks truly stunning...really classy. I also added a third p/up to my turquoise 330, but the problem is that it looks so good, that my other guitarist in my band wants to buy it. He knows that it isn't one of my main playing Rics, so he'll probably end up with it.

Can a gold TRC be swapped for a white one?? I would LOVE to have a gold TRC and pickguard for my 4003 Monty Brown. That would look awesome.

Scott: You can "swap" a gold TRC for a white one, however, I believe that this actually involves turning in the white one and purchasing a gold TRC.
Larry: Congratulations, that is an awesome looking instrument.

Welcome to the forum and the World according to Ric, Larry. The turquoise looks great. Maybe if you and it live long enough you both may become collectables.
I took delivery of my new 330FG with vintage pups yesterday and I can't begin to tell you how proud I am to be an owner. Still got goosebumps!
Had you been hankering for a Ric for long? Took me almost 40 years to get mine.
Cheers

Does anyone have Kenny's email address at RIC? I need to switch my TRC's as well.

Larry...welcome...The heck with the collectable, there will be others..right now just play the hell out of it and enjoy. (By the way the replacement parts mentioned would look pretty nifty on it)

Welcome to the culb, Larry.
I don't think there are gold TRCs for basses, other than the black/gold lettering seen on the Ciis.

I think that gold on turquoise looks the biz! I also added a third p/up to my 330.
