I owned a 4001v63 two years ago and had to sell it due to financial reason. I´ve missed it every day Image
I´ve finally located another one in mint condition from Ishibashi in Japan. Ive been sent many detailed pics of it and it´s in super nice condition. Only problem is the price is a bit high. Here in Sweden those basses are really rare and the ones on US eBay wont ship here Image
So are there any known problems about these basses that I should be aware of? Do they have a lot of dead spots on the necks? Is the neck stable etc?
Im pretty sure Im going to buy it and they are holding it for me to get the money together (Im a poor student).
It would be really nice to come back to the Rickenbacker camp after a short and forced stop in Fender country.

One more question. Is the pickguard transparent plastic that is painted white on the back or is it just the nameplate that is made this way?

Also, do these v63´s vary a lot in sound from bass to bass? Will it feal similar to my last v63? Im just afraid I´ll be dissapointed after all this searching and saving.

the pickguard is made in white plastic...the nameplate is transparent plastic painted in white.
I don't think you will be disappointed it is a great bass, expecially coming from a stop in Fender country

...or you could try to go for a new 4001C64... it's easier to find it as new in musical stores

That's one gorgeous v63, congratulations, I'm sure you're going to love it. Nothing looks nicer on a Ric than Fireglo.

This is Rose, my 1992 v63, best Ric I've ever played, wonderful sound and feel !!!
