Today is the Chinese Lunar New Year. 2005 is the year of the Rooster. I want to wish everyone a prosperous new year---more Ricks in everybody's home!
Also, my best wishes for everyone working at RIC. Thank you all for crafting these much adored and cherished instruments!
By the way, folks, Lindsay Hahn and I ordered our 4004 Cii BBR babies together on January 28. I pray for them to be delivered by the end of this year---under the wings of The Rooster!

I've just taken the BBR plunge and ordered the last 4004cii from Mike Parks....it's been eating away at me since the COY announcement.
I can't wait, yet the wait begins...

I just tell my wife like she tells me. I need one in every color and style. Unless they are Shadows, then I need pairs.

Congratulations, Chris!!!
Now all the three 4004 Cii BBR's ordered by Mike are sold to the members of this forum. I'm sure they will be sisters from the same batch, probably crafted from the woods of the same trees. How cool!
As far as I know, Mike was probably the first one to order the BBR instruments (on January 21.Chris Clayton did the next day but got the sweet NAMM4003 BBR that Greg got) so you can be sure that ours will probably be the earliest Cii BBR's produced. I just pray for ours to be extra flamey/quilted and not be like the new Cii MB and NAT that Mike just got in, which are kind of...er...plain and "un-Cii". (Dear Mr. Hall, please make us happy campers.

)
As for the wifey issue...I just assured my wife that the Ricks in the house will only increase in number, wheather she likes it or not. Don't worry guys, I'm not jeopardizing my marriage. She can live with that.

Thanks, Paul
Don't misunderstand me...I bought this for my WIFE as a birthday present.....now, if she doesn't LIKE it, I will be more than happy to 'assume ownership' of it....
I'm also assuming that the finish will look better on a cii than a 4003....the contouring on an unbound model won't break up the "flow" of the finish as it would on a bound 4003.
I have been trying to wait for a good pic of one, but I just couldn't......R.A.S., you know....it affects ALL of us, one way or another....

Looking at my BBR 4003, I can't help but think that a 4004Cii body is a perfect canvas for the Blueburst finish. The pickup and pickguard does get in the way of some of the fade. This was one of my deciding factors in ordering a 4004Cii5 in MB.
I REALLY like that natural Mike has up on his web page.
