Not your average Rickenbacker

Took this guy to rehearsal for the first time last night. Please forgive the pun but, you might say the sound covers all the basses.

First off, It's loud as motherf$%^&*r. Second, the tome variations are incredible. I like just picking between the horseshoe and the bridge for the biting sound and then bringing my hand in front of the shoes and before the neck pickup for that booming bass sound. The neck pickup is not just humbucking, but hum non-existance. The horseshoe is just the best pickup I've ever had.

The other thing is that the playablilty, with the great action and those Thomastick-Infield flats makes it almost seem like I can play.

And Ted, I can't tell you how many compliments I got on the checkerboard binding. You're work on the binding, neck, frets etc. was not at all in vain. For me it's exactly what I wanted. My ultimate Rickenbacker.

I am very proud of that bass Marc and I am pleased that you like it so much. Every time I see your bass and Jaymi's 4004C all of the sweat that went in to them is justified.

Kevin, meck pickup is himbucker as used on the 4004. It's some pickup.

Steve, my jealousy of basses like yours is what made me refin in that shade. In fact, the search for a Sea green v63 is what brought me here.

Marc, did you ever find a SG V63? Someone around here had one for sale not too long ago.
