Color Naming

Hey how come white never had a 'glo moniker. Jetglo, fireglo, autumnglo, mapleglo, burgandyglo, rubyglo, azureglo, white; hmmm.

Also why was it dropped? Did this coincide with the loss of the BT option? White/White is still a very cool combination as evidenced by the few seen here. I own a ’77 white with BT and it has its equal place alongside the other colors. It’s probably the best use of black trim from the β€˜80s – sort of an alter ego of Jetglo.

Hmm. "Snowglo"? Actually, not all you mentioned are officially "glo" colors. I don't think Burgundy was ever officially Burgundyglo, and Ruby was just plain Ruby. For a while, my local dealer (Northcoast Music) was referring to last year's color as "Montezumaglo" so I can understand the confusion. In short, the use of "glo" is not consistent.

Turquoise and Midnight Blue, Desert Gold, Silver, Seafoam Green, Blueboy...none of them used GLO either.

I guess I was thinking '70s when everything else seemed glo. I thought burgandy was a 'glo - I've seen it in print. The 80's are when everything went topsy/turvy. You forgot to mention Walnut come to think of it. Maybe the 'glos refered to clear coated finishes. Wasn't Walnut a flat-finish?

Then why did the matte-finished Autumnglo get the '-glo' suffix, and Walnut - which is exactly the same color only glossy - didn't?

Ted chime in. I thought it was the other way around Ilan.
