The Hollies

I was listening to Stop Stop Stop by The Hollies yesterday. The song features a banjo throughout it as the main instrument.

It occurred to me that Rickenbacker introduced the Bantar 6000 in the summer of 1966, and Stop Stop Stop was recorded in October of 66.

Tony Hicks was a Rickenbacker fan back then and also a Vox user. I was wondering if he used a Bantar 6000 in this song.

Anyone know?

It doesn't sound like the "electric banjo" (Bantar?) played by Doug Dillard on the Monkees' "What Am I Doing Hangin' 'Round" (1967) and Gene Clark's "Keep On Pushin'" (1966).

I'm certain that Tony Hicks used a 6-string banjo on "Stop Stop Stop". One of his complaints is that he's had to carry one on tour ever since. At least one other track on "For Certain Because", "What's Wrong With The Way I Live?" also featured this instrument.
