I was just wondering if anyone else was having problems navigating the search catagories on ebay? When I do a search, I typically:

1) go to site map
2) click on musical intruments
3) click on bass
4) then type in "Rickenbacker"

Then in the past, all Rick basses would come up. OK??
Now, for some reason when in the bass catagory, when I type Rickenbacker, the search automatically defaults back to the "All Catagories" setting, and brings up everything Rickenbacker. Which is alright, but sometimes I dont have enough time to sort through all the other items.

This isnt limited to musical instruments either. I've noticed it across the board, when trying to narrow my search.

Depends on HOW the instrument is listed by seller.

A bass could've been listed under the guitar catagory.....throwing your search off...

I know it sounds weird, especially since you looked under "musical instruments" but....we ARE talking about EBAY!!! Image

There's no need to first go to the category and then the subcategory if you're just looking for a particular brand.

A long time ago I just typed the words Rickenbacker bass into the general search engine. It worked. I bookmarked the page. It still works.

And I don't miss any because I have a separate bookmark for Rickenbacker guitars.

I did the same thing as Dave, I bookmarked two, one Ric bass only and the other all Ric bass. With the second I'll get stuff like pickups, cases, some CD's etc. but for the most part all usefull stuff and I usually only get abot 75 things on the 2nd one. First 15-30.

Scott, the same thing has happened to me in the past. Usually closing your browser and clearing your cache resolves it.

I hate all the spy ware items that ebay puts in my computer! Image

But that only happens with Explorer, so now I mainly use Mozilla Firefox and I doesn't let that garbage into my computer.

I do the same thing Dave does, but you can save your searches in your Ebay summary, under "All farvorites".
So I bookmark My Ebay Summary, and click on "Searches".
