Jeff, I agree...play them!!! Play them live, play them studio.....just play them, they are not meant to be put under the bed so the shrine can grow!!

Mine is probably as pristine as that one, AND I know where the COA is. It *has* seen a whole song though - The Gates Of Delirium! Image Actually, the only reason mine is in shrine mode is because I've been working insane night shift hours for the last few years, and playing out isn't an option right now. I *really* look forward to the day I can hit the stage with it though - I obviously am going to try my damnedest to keep it immaculate, but I dont plan on getting rid of it anyway, so Closet Classic value isn't a consideration in my case (no pun intended).

Squire needs a 4004Cii-8 to replace his old Ranney... how cool would that be. Trans Red of course. Image

Jaymi, Jeff, I agree with you both.

By all means don't abuse them, but play them, it's what they were made to do.

....I'm still kicking myself for not ordering two 4004LK's. It would be great to gig one and know that there is one safe at home "just in case".
I play all my Rics at gigs and with the exception of some chrome wear on the treble p/u mounting ring from where I rest my thumb they all could pass for "new". It is a shame when Rics get stored and not used (for only the sake of keeping them new).....no reason a bass/guitar can't get used regularly and remain in good condition.....except laziness/abuse.

It's probably from all the blood Brian, blood is fairly corrosive on metal ......

The reserve is $3100.
Without the certificate, I wonder how much it will go for?
