Hello all,
I have a 4 string bassguitar and want to modify it with Rickenbacker parts.
A Neck with traditional triangle inlays and (traditional) Head, and Rickenbackers Pickup(s).
The pickups must produce the legendary RIC sound.
Does anybody know WHERE i can purchase these bassguitar parts? Much thanks...

Why not simply GET a Ric, dude?

You can't purchase a Ric bass neck separately, it's a neck through design. You can buy the pickups, but there's more to the sound of a Ric than just the pickups.

Where are you from Sander & why do you want to modify instead of getting the real deal?

Yo dudes, thanks for the replies...
The bassplayer of the band that i am in doesn't have a lot cash to buy the real deal. Rickenbacker basses are about $2000(minimum) here in Holland. So we came up with the idea to modify his current bass with RIC parts, just to see how expensive that would get.
We would love to order a Rickenbacker bass from America (where they are cheaper then here in Europe) but most sites with these basses DON't ship outside of the US.
So, my next question would be:
Does anybody know a site where the ship rickenbacker basses to Europe?!
Thanks chaps.

I don't think they can ship a new one but maybe a used one. It depends on their dealer agreement with RIC. But then some of the high cost may be taxes in your country that you have to pay anyway.

Welcome, Sander! eBay is a good place to start. Try
this link - it searches not only US auctions but also European countries - France, Germany, Italy, etc. Many sellers ship internationally.

If anyone does need some parts however, I do have a blackened toaster pickup as well as a high gain neck. Also, a high gain bridge in with black surround and cover. Just haven't had time to list them.

I think it would be better to hunt for that Ric bargain that comes up every now & again than to modify an exsisting bass with Ric parts Sander. It would probably still be pretty expensive to do & your bass player would still want the real thing, so he will end up with a bass he doesn't really want anyway.
Get your 'sniff out a bargain' nose on...

The legedary Rickenbacker sound comes from the legendary Rickenbacker guitars, not from a few parts. Materials and methods of the total package make the sound.

I have to agree. My '76 sounds like a Rick even when unplugged.

Hello again,
What can i say

Usually i get yelled at being a noob and get kicked, but you guys have been very cool, i appreciate that.
Me and "my" bassplayer have been talking and we have agreed to have an eye out for that "once in a while bargain". We'll start scouting Ebay right away.
Thanks again guys,
PS: Does anybody listen to Motörhead? huhuhu
