It's...kinda...interesting. I have a 12 string (cheapo) bass, so the amount of strings doesn't faze me. But, on an acoustic (and especially with some of the splitting issues it seems to have), I'd be concerned that the thing would explode in my face during unpacking. :-\

Gary, I've got a JJ Master Sitar as well. How do you like yours? I use mine in my Beatles trib band.

I like mine a lot, but am still at that "tweak the sound" stage of playing. I'd like to use it on Norwegian Wood; I saw the Fab Four last Sunday and they used a Baby Sitar in the song - sounded great!
I plan on trying to do some alternative tunings on it as well. Do you use standard tuning?

I think if you take that on a boat, you might be able to paddle home with that headstock!
I play a 12 string Hamer also, so the 3-string groups wouldn't be THAT strange...

Being in a Beatles Tribute Band must be quite expensive especially if one is trying to copy all of the sounds in their diverse music. What other songs would you use the sitar on, Love You Too, Hooked On A Feeling, Turn Down Day?

In addition to Hofner and Ric basses, and elec.sitar, I play a floor tom and cymbal w/mallets, and an alarm clock.
Our lead guitarist, in addition to several nice guitars(Gretsch,Ric12,Strat,Casino,etc.)plays a different alarm clock, fire bell, paper and comb, can of compressed air, makes bubbles with straw in glass of water.
You get the idea.
Right now I only use the sitar on NW, and Across the Universe.

Of the above we do Lucy and TNK. I love the bass part on Lucy, I use a capo on TNK.

I just noticed the scalloped fingerboard. I wonder if that was added after the initial design? Did you see how far the strings were away from the frets?
