What would a Horseshoe pickup from a '63 steel be worth?
(still strong, too)

Crazy.

Sure, you have a shoeless v63, c64, CS, or god forbid, a shoeless Rm1999; worth it.

A lot of peeps who bid on them intend on retrofitting the pickup to a 4003.

Looks so ridiculous. Image

It's for my '65. Because it's worth it. (Up to a point, of course).

What's ridiculous? Putting shoes on a 4003? I think not!

Hell, I knew that was gonna stir up trouble for me.

Well, OK - I was a little too strong, but - personally; I think the 4003 looks awful with anything other than hi-gains.

For me horseshoes only look great on old pre-72 Deluxe and S model 4001s, IMO. Something about them being tied in with checkered or no binding, they look brilliant together.

Hey, I'm talking purely aesthetics here. Who gives a hoot. Image

No maliciousness intended!

No trouble Mark, you're just stating your opinion! Open discussion is what it's all about.

With that said, I wholeheartedly disagree! I've got horseshoes on all three of my ricks - '72 JG, '79 Burgundy, and '80 Azureglo. I love the way they look, I love the way they sound.
