The bass side truss rod had no relief capability. As I start to loosen it just uncrews the nut. Plenty of tightening but no lossening. Currently the neck looks pretty straight. The treble side appears to be fine. Any thoughts of what situation I have and How can I remedy it?

Thanks for the responses.

Give it some time- the strings will eventually pull the neck up against the rods, unless you've put some ridiculously light strings on the guitar. A RIC neck SHOULD be straight, very little, if any relief, if you want correct intonation.

Thanks John. I've got 11s on it now and that's the lowest I will go. I will give some time as you recommend.

It sounds awesome. I am going to bring it to practice tomorrow night and run through my AC30. But, I must admit that the Higains sound really good through my Pathfinder. I am going to use on a number of songs that feature single coil. I am really looking forward to it.

John, While we're on the topic, I just bought a 1959 Ric 450 w/ neck thru and single trussrod. The neck has some relief on the treble side and none on the bass side. How can I adjust that out? Also, the neck seems to be pulling up from string tension. Can this be corrected? Thanks, Brian
