Thanks to all of YOU.

Man, I gotta tell you - I look at & occasionally post on some other popular bass guitar forums that will go unnamed. And they are all pretty weak compared to this one. Many of the threads elsewhere deteriorate into name calling or just absolute nonsense. Plus, if you have a valid question and/or inquiry often the post is completely ignored.
Here I get answers, polite opinions, true "wit" (I can't tell you how important that is to me!), and so on.
I check this forum often throughout the day & when I look at the other ones I'm usually left scratching my head & asking why I clicked there in the first place.

So thanks to Peter, JH & all of you out there. Further vindication of my opinion that Rick bassists are truly a cut above the rest.

We are all very fortunate to have this place we can call Home! Of course, over time there has been a few issues, but hey, that happens in any family.

And Rick guitarists are chopped liver?

Just kidding.

Sort of.

Sorry Paul, just viewing the world through my "4 string blinders". The other forums I go on are bass only, but OF COURSE I meant:
"Further vindication of my opinion that Rick PLAYERS are truly a cut above the rest."

I too would like to add my THANKS to all around. I am not a memeber of any other forum mostly for the reasons Chris listed above. Never really got anything out of them except for the occasional creative put-down. I have recieved so much good info here, from Sticky Neck problems, mute questions, treble pickup surround questions, etc. Gives me warm fuzzies by being a member.

I'm another fan caught staring into the "Khaki Vacuum". Don't get me wrong, it just aggrivates my wife when I sit quietly reading a computer screen for hours.

I told her I could buy more guitars! She told me to shut up and get back to my reading.

A truly great forum!

Hey, guys, just rattling your strings a bit. I know we're all here having a good and productive time, especially due to Peter's vision and John's participation.

Tapeworm pills should take care of those warm fuzzies, Jason. I know how irritating they can be.

It aggravates anybody to be in a room with a musician with headphones, jangling to his heart's content, or sitting in front of a CRT, reading about jangling out to his heart's content.

That's what "The Bachelorette" and "The Apprentice" are for. So women can get even with their leglectful mates.

Gee, was that sexist? Sorry-I knew Jen was going to turn John Paul down, from her body language. But, seriously, they are both a bit flakey, don't you think?

Ahem. Get a life, JJ.

I too say a big thankyou to this forums members, as well as to Peter & Mr Hall. This is the only forum that I participate in & judging by the comments about other forums, this is the ONLY forum that I will participate in. I have learned so much here from like minded Rickenbacker devotees & have also learned that no question is too 'stupid' to ask.
Jeffrey hit the nail on the head about family 'issues'. This is inevitable in a close knit community, but the respect & willingness to help shown by members on this forum is fantastic. We do at time to time have different views, but I truly feel at home here & amongst friends.

I concur, as well.

And you know what's great about friends and family? They share with each other.

Isn't that right, 4005 Owners?

I wonder how many members we do have, and what percentage are active in the sense of a once a month or so post...Peter? Any numbers?

Interesting, Paul. I was thinking of starting a thread asking how many of the members are:

a) Full time pro
b) Part time band player
c) Lounge room hopeful
d) Collector only

Cheers

Howard. I think I would fit in:

e) all of the above.

I have done all of that at different times in my life. Great idea for a thread.

Paul,

I've been b) and am now c). Given that there would me many members who have been one or all at some stage I'd be more interested in the now situation.

I could start one in the general category and call it 'Where Do You Fit In?'. Or you can if you wish.

Thinking about it more, maybe if it's going to be done we should put more thought into the categories.......

Like:

e) Trader/repairer/luthier

Can you lemme know your thoughts?.....

Cheers
