Maximizing the jangle?

Hi! I am a new happy owner of a 1975 Rickenbacker 480. This is my very first Rickenbacker. Here it is:
I understand that this is perhaps not the jangliest Ricky there is. Still, I can hear there is some jangle there, somewhere. I got some sounds out of it that reminded me a little of Jam.
Now I need some advice on how to maximise the jangle. Playing loud? Playing with the bridge pickup only? Using a certain type of pick or strings? Using a little overdrive? What's your secret? Thanks!

Get rid of the high gains and get some scatterwound vintage toasters. Find an amp that doesn't get too "warm" and sounds really pure. Loud is good, too.

The Janglebox is probably best, but any kind of compression will get you closer to THAT tone.

Clean headroom on your amp. Any Ric will jangle, I've learned. My humbucker-equipped 650A jangled just fine (it also sang like a bird!). Your tone and volume knobs are there for you. Of course, a compressor helps...
Good luck!

Mikko, I think you said that you wanted a white 480 in another thread. Just to let you know, this is the first 480 I've seen in Jetglo and it's very very nice.
I say you should keep it!
My 370 is also equiped with hi-gains, so what I do to maximize it's jangle is to lower the volume significantly on both pickups and use your amp to make it a bit louder. Maybe add a bit of trebble on your amp too.
I'm guessing you can get some real nice lead tones on a 480 with hi-gains.

Patrick,
that's funny, since the most of 480s I've seen were actually jetglo! But your view on keeping is worth thinking about.
As for lead tones with 480, I agree. And even better, I like the way the guitar does bluesy soloing with many string at the time (know what I mean?). The sound stays intact and has very nice bite.

Oh yeah, I used the neck pickup alot for those.
I used to do that thing where you bend the note on a string to reach the same pitch as the note you are playing on the other string.
A buddy of mine actually commented on how great that sounds on RIC's. For some reason I stopped doing that as much.
I really need to learn new tricks.
I'm guessing the reason I haven't seen many 480's is because I don't exactly look for them.
Most of the ones I have seen were Walnut. I think anyways.
Just look at it, the way the hi-gains look with Jetglo, especially the neck pickup. Looks classy.
