£3600 or there abouts. To me that seems just a bit to high for what I'd want to pay.

the conditions are not that good either... but if you really NEED one....

yeah the condition looks poor for the price (compared to some that have went) but it's all supply and demand I guess! But the fact that it's in Japan means it's not gonna be a great buy! Now if I could find one in the states that would be a different matter!
Actually I think I'd like on with wear as I wouldn't be afraid to play it!

I've seen two - that one and another sometime back before I even had a 4003 but alas I was at Uni then. The condition in pix looked clean but I didn't dare ask the price as I couldn't afford a plank!
John, how did it play?

It played fine. It certainly was used but it is 37 yrs. old. Nice old bass.

Isn't the 4005 the holy grail of basses? You should buy it - you'll regret passing it up. If buyers remorse lasts longer than a year or two, I'm sure you could sell it and make a profit.
But I'm sure you wouldn't sell it...

That is my favourite 4005. I'd be tempted to exchange the 64 4001 I recently acquired for that B/G. Only JW's current BB 4005 gets me as much...

lol! If that guy moves to the States and sells in $ I would be tempted :p
Alas the money I have at the moment is going towards:
Akai Headrush II
A new snare drum
Some bells
a Xylaphone
and some home recording gear!
But maybe I should se if he'll come down on the price a little :p
