There is a nice 1978 photo of Stevie Ray Vaughan playing a Rickenbacker thanks to the kind assistance of Mr Ken Hoge.

Peter, do you know of recordings with SRV playing the Ric?

SRV mentions this guitar in his 1984 Guitar Player interview:

He says "I've got an old Rickenbacker prototype with a flat top, and I'm giving that to Hubert [Sumlin]."

Thanks Mike, an interesting read. He did indeed give this Rickenbacker to Hubert Sumlin, however, it was was stolen and recovered before he presented to Hubert as a gift.
