Mark, Horseshoe is a Lollar pup, but all else is original. It plays, sounds and looks much better than I had ever hoped for! It's a keeper for sure. This bass was discussed before my buying it in my thread entitled "What should I pay for a late 60's 4001".

While I was there I couldn't help but look at the 4005. What the heck happened to it? Very ugly mod done there. I hate to see that.

It's a beauty, that's the 68. Seth, a Lollar p/up is a horseshoe copy that is made by a guy called Jason Lollar.
That 4005 is an ideal candidate for a three toaster bass depending on what's below the guard. Great wood on that bass too. I e-mailed the guy asking about a price but didn't get a return.

I think it was sold to Ted Staberow. Isn't that the one that you are refurbishing, Ted?
