Good price on that one. A two hour drive for me, too. It is on hold for somebody, which is a good thing!

I was in to look at it last weekend.I had phoned them about the bass to ask about the hold. Some" young guy who is a great player" had put some money down and was scrambling to get the rest. The guys that worked in the store told me that there were five people lined up in case things changed and were amazed at the response. They were determined that it was going to the "kid"
I was happy that they were determined to sell it to someone they liked. One of the other bidders had offered them $500 over the asking price....

Ain't it sweet nowadays to see Rickenbacker appreciated by a young one?
$1000 for a checkered bound (albeit no full-width MOP inlays) 4001 in good condition is really a good price!
Morrow,
It would be ultra cool of you if you call the store and have them tell the kid to join this forum!

"$1000 for a checkered bound (albeit no full-width MOP inlays) 4001 in good condition is really a good price!"
And that's $1000 Canadian, or about $800 US. A real bargoon!
