Saw on Voxtalks that John Hall posted some pics from the Tokyo Music Fair, which included some new C Series photos:
Tokyo Music Fair
Check out the Baby Blue guitars also, they look pretty cool (I wonder if they'll be available here, or if they're only for the Japanese market?)

Sea Green: Thanks for the link. Very interesting photos from Japan. The Baby Blue finish is quite unique.

Vox amps galore too!
Looks very nice .I am looking forward to seeing these at winter NAMM .
Nice 'Sonic Blue' .Looks like the Jim Reeves blue from the 1960's.
Looks like a NW Airlines container worth of guitars ,plus the table and chairs !

If you're talking about the blue color, there won't be any at NAMM as the color is not available in North America.

Aww, come on Mr. Hall, why isn't the blue going to be available in the US? Not even as one of the rotating colors? I'd love to have a 4003 in that color!

IMO
You might have a little more sympathy and/or cooperation from Rickenbacker if your request was accompanied by a cheque even tho the color you want has already been produced .
Im sure Ric is regularly asked for special this special that . Heck Id like a narrower neck on my bass and lots of folks would like a wider 12 string neck..
What seems to be a simple request from us is often a pain in the rear for the supplier.

John: While it may be difficult for RIC to deliver on all our requests, the gist of Sea Green's post, from my reading, was that this blue finish was unique and would be on his wish list. It is a cool color and certainly one that you don't see every day. We may be getting a wider 12 string neck as a result of similar requests made to RIC.

John Westwood,
My response was definitely of the "wish lish" variety, I don't expect Mr. Hall to just drop everything and make me a baby blue 4003, even if I did present a check to RIC.
I know RIC has enough on its plate as it is, but if it did become available you can bet I would snap one up in an instant.

The Blue Boy color is the first step in a program to help our exclusive overseas distributors combat the gray market problem. Our distributors expend significant sums to warehouse, advertise, promote at events, produce catalogs, provide warranty service and parts, etc. To have commercial quantities of goods shipped into their market by unscrupulous American dealers who violate their contract is onerous and ultimately undermines the availability of the line in a given country. By being able to offer something absolutely unique, the distributors can encourage the local dealers to stay within the system.

Although this means that I probably won't be able to procure a Blue Boy (unless I move to Japan or something

) I applaud the efforts being made to help out the distributors overseas.
