Name a pilot who was famous and connected in some way with Rickenbacker.

Are you serious? ;)

It's impossible to do an internet search for Rickenbacker (Ebay especially) without getting a tutorial on the person you're referencing.

Still, there are probably some who don't know.

So I'll shut up.

Eddie Rickenbacker is one possibility, however, I am not thinking of him. Carry on Rickenbacker.

I have to admit I'm stumped, and as a pilot, I guess I should know the answer. Peter's got something up his sleeve . . .

I could say Pierre Thuot but everyone would say "huh"?

Lemmy can fly, but it's usually meth induced. Does that count?

Neither Pete, Pierre nor Lemmy.

Well strike my first comment from the record. Image
There is a Rickenbacker Int. Airport and a Rickenbacker Air Reserve Base, but I can't think of any particular pilot beside Edward Vernon Rickenbacker.

hmmm

Although not famous for being a pilot ,I'm pretty sure I read a Maurice Gibb interview somewhere where he mentioned piloting a Cessna plane, or co-piloting a plane with his brother Andy at the controls and Maurice giving Andy instructions...Is it Maurice by any chance?

No I did not have Maurice in mind, however, if what you say it true, I will the next time. I like your interpretation though.

I would make the distinction between a pilot who was famous and a famous pilot as you have done.

I'm not sure how famous he is as a pilot, but how about Jimmy Buffet?

Not Jimmy, but, at this rate, I am about to be found out any time soon. So any of these answers would have to be as good as the one I intially thought of.

Alright, I'll throw this out:

How 'bout the bass player in the band 'Pilot'(their hit was "Magic") who played a 4001?
