1980, according to the TC number provided. It appears to be in excellent shape.

What seems odd, and maybe it's because of my lack of knowledge, but didn't the early 4003 nameplates say 4003 on them?

Congrats and enjoy the 4003 Sean. I had two 4003's from 1981, they both had 4003 on the TRC's.
