When I first started playing bass in 2000, this was the first "good" bass I owned. I had 4 other Fenders since and always retained this one. Last year I bought an '80 4001 and fell in love with it and I have an '80 4003 being delivered by the stork next week. I haven't touched the Fender since getting the Rick. SO now, I think I will part with it. It's a 1999 American Standard Jazz and it has been treated very well. It's blonde with the wood grain from the ash showing through. It's a beatiful piece for sure. Rosewood fretboard. All pups and the bridge are stock. Slight scuffing on the back, but nothing that goes deep into the wood. My belly kept it off of my buckle! If anyone is interested, drop me an email and we'll discuss it and I can provide some pics as well. Comes with HSC, non-Fender.

I tried to sell my 50th anniversary American Jazz Bass on eBAY a while ago. The bass is perfect, and I only played it twice. I ended up pulling out of the auction because I was only getting $400 out of it. This is a $1,400 bass. If you plan on selling it on eBAY start your bid as high, or slightly lower than what you want for it.

New Fenders don't go for anywhere near what you payed for them unlike Rics.

My boss at the venue I bounce for offered me $700 for it. I am taking it to him tomorrow! Yea!

well, he didn't care for the rosewood fretboard, so it was a no deal.
now it's here:

That is a nice looking bass Sean. I don't like maple necks they feel kind of sticky to me, I like Rosewood much better.

If that were only a 5 string, I'd be on it in a flash!

I've been looking for a "pre S-1 switching system" Jazz 5'er, and I've always liked that "white blond" finish!
