First off, a big hello to everybody! What a great forum! I've already learned more about Rics than I ever thought possible just by browsing the threads here.

But now to the really important stuff, I've purchased my first Rickenbacker, a Jetglo 360/6. I snapped it up on Ebay, it'll be on my doorstep tomorrow. I can't wait! I've played and drooled over Rics for as long as I've been playing, and finally had the opportunity to buy one. I can already see a Ric 12 string in my future. Image

I look forward to learning more about these great guitars!

Hi Sean! Welcome to the world of R.A.S., and to the forum.

I have a 'burg 360-6 that I just love....it's actually my ONLY guitar!

Don't forget to post a couple of pics of your black beauty!!

Welcome to the family Sean! What year is your 360? My only RIC guitar is a '03 660/12, something you should look into. However, I do have five RIC basses, ranging in age from a '67 4005WB up to an '04 4003FL! Image

You WILL be getting more Rickenbackers, it's just a fact of life around these here parts!

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys!. I'm not sure of the year yet, I'll have to wait until the guitar arrives so I can check the serial number. I'll be sure to get some pics as soon as it arrives.

A shop in my town has a Jetglo 360/12 that I've been in love with for some time now, but they want too much money for it. I'm hoping it'll still be there when I'm ready to shop for my next Ric, maybe they'll be in a mood to haggle a bit. It plays and sounds heavenly.

I got my first Ric 360/6 in Midnight Blue early 2004. It's a great guitar. I plug it into my Hi-Z input on my VS2480CD and it sounds great! I'm keeping it forever. I get some buzzing from the saddle screws and springs from time to time and had to tighten the output jacks connectors once but other than that, no more problems.

Sean, welcome. I'm fairly new here mysele (life-long RIC owner though). There's one thing you'll find on these boards: everyone has a passion for RIC instruments.

Welcome, Sean.

As I've said before in this forum, it's a bit like a disease that has to be carefully managed (usually by someone that sits behind a desk at the bank!!).

My 660/12 came with three weeks of my 330/6 and I can't wait to own a 360 - they feel so good!!

'Passion' is a very appropriate word when Rics are under discussion.

Enjoy and keep postin'. It's a great family to be a member of.

Cheers

Welcome aboard Sean. There's just one thing to remember about RICs. As soon as you have one, you'll immediately want another, and another, and another, and another,...........

Wow! Amazing response, thanks for the warm welcome. The 360 should be here in the next couple of hours, so I'll report back when it arrives...

Looking into my crystal ball, I predict the next major life transition will be the acquisition of a Rick 12 - but you will need to negotiate a difficult decision: 660/12 or 3X0/12?? You will hear varying opinions.

My oracle advises that, for many players, the 660/12 will cost less and be more playable in the long run than a 360/12. My oracle has been known to err in the past.

Go ahead and order some pyramid flats for your 360.

What kind of music do you play?

I've actually been looking at the 370/12 for when the time comes to buy one. Still, I'll have to give the different models a try. We've got a pretty limited selection around here (even more so now that GC no longer sells Rics), so all I've had the oppportunity to play were a 360/12v64, a 360/12, and a 325. For the record, I loved 'em all!

As for music, lots of different styles. I love blues and late 60's/early 70's rock and pop (Beatles & Byrds of course), but also have a soft spot for many of the newer forms of music. I'm really looking forward to hearing what the 360 will sound like in a blues or rock context.
