There is nothing like a 12 string Rickenbacker to warm up your day.

Thanks, Peter! What a beautiful sight for sore eyes--thanks for warming up my morning!

Yes, and a beautiful song too. I wish I was home.

This has been a tough winter. I really want to celebrate spring (if it ever comes) with something in Fireglo.

Love the Montezuma Brown on that guitar, Peter. It almost looks like a satin or antique finish.

John: You have certainly characterized this finsh. While white guards tend to accent the high-gloss quality of the finish, the gold guards create a more satin or antique look overall. This combination harkens back to the vintage years even in a new instrument.

Ronn: A great song to be sure.

Peter:

My all-time favorite BB ballad. Legend says that Brian stayed up all night November 22, 1963, and wrote the song watching the sun coming up on the 23rd.

It was one of the first songs I played on my 381 the day I bought it.

The chord structure is nothing short of brilliant!

What good is the dawn
That grows into day
The sunset at night
Or living this way

For I have the warmth of the sun
(Warmth of the sun)
Within me at night
(Within me at night)

The love of my life
She left me one day
I cried when she said
"I don't feel the same way"

Still I have the warmth of the sun
(Warmth of the sun)
Within me tonight
(Within me tonight)

I'll dreams of her arms
And though they're not real
Just like she's still there
The way that I feel

I loved like the warmth of the sun
(Warmth of the sun)
It won't ever die
(It won't ever die)

Great song. Fantastic chord progression...I like the key change - coming off a Gmaj7, G then transitioning up to the Eflatm7 to Aflat7 before changing key up to the Dflat right when the verse "I'll dream of her arms" begins - knocks me out every time as the music lifts you into a dreamlike state. One of Brian's best.

Lovely, all of it! Luckily my days at present don't need much warming up - the next 3 or four days are gonna be 30c plus!

I still look at my 660/12 every morning, hail, rain or shine.

Peter, what is the model/year? Looks like Model 1993 Rose Morris meets 360/12v64.

Beautiful guitar Peter & a good photo too. I do like F holes (after all, I am British), especially with binding....really lovely. This is my favourite 'warmth'....

Jeez, do I like that, Peter. The other pic you posted was good but it looks really fine in this one! The color, the blend is terrific. It appears flawless....now I like all Rics but there is one I would take in a heartbeat....hint.
