Tony, 1.) did you keep both / one / the other? 2.) did the quality match the beauty on both / one / the other? |

I've wanted one since age 13 or so but only acquired a 330 last year. (I'm 29 years old + a year or two ) But I think the overall trend is true - you don't get a lot of teenagers buying Ricks like you would a mid-line Fender, Ibanez, or Shecter. That being said, there was an interesting thread on harmony central about (Well, pictures of) female guitarists. Quite a few had ricks, and most of them weren't probably over 30. |

Bought my first Ric in 1978 when I was in a punk band. I'm now 46 and since '78 I have never not had at least one Ric. |

Paul, unfortunately, I no longer have my j/glo 4001 (I have a f/glo 4003 as well as several Ric gtrs), but fortunately I do still have my wife. We had a gig on our honeymoon, so the band picked me up from the hotel....she knew what she was in for right at the beginning! & yes, the quality & beauty were equally shared & still is! |

I am now 36 and got my first Ric ('73 checkerboard 4001) in '92 when I was 23-ish. Lemmy and Cliff Burton were what 1st attracted me to a Ric.....but when a friend of mine got a Burgundy 4001 and I tried it out I knew I had to have one....well, at least one |

Yeah - great band. I think Weller introduced alot of people in the UK to Rickenbackers (those who were too young to be buying records in the sixties). Just listen to "In the City" - just a 330 cranked through an AC30 - pure tone ! |
