I recently had the tailpiece break at where it fits into the bracket on my 12 string 330. Can any one from Australia tell me where I can get a new one as the guitar shops where I live (North QLD) have no idear where to order one from. Help needed thanks. |

I'm here, Paul. It so happens I'm dropping in to my local dealer (in Melbourne) tonight, Geoff. I'm picking up my son's BC Rich Platinum Warlock after I managed to break the nut changing strings last Saturday - doh!! I'll definitely speak to the guys there about it and post the result. |

If my spare R tailpiece was a 12-string tailpiece instead of a 6-string one, I'd help out. Sorry! |

Ok Geoff, here's the deal (as far as Melbourne is concerned). The price will be about $90 to $120. I couldn't get that confirmed because it was outside normal wholesale trading hours. These things aren't something you can just buy over the counter (as I suspected) because RIC don't want to have genuine Rick parts slapped on any old piece of stuff. We'll need to provide a photo of the guitar and preferably one of the output jack showing the serial number. Photographic evidence of the damage will probably be a good thing also. A photocopy of the serial number card is also necessary. I'm sure that electronic transmission of these will be suitable. I'm more than happy to do the business for you if you so desire. I guess step #1 is for you to accept the cost. If it's in your 'affordable' region then I'll get a confirmed written quote from the dealer and get it to you so you know it's all above board and fair dinkum. I'll arrange postage/delivery etc. so you won't have to worry about any of that jazz. The dealer (in case you're wondering it's Eastgate Guitars) seems to think that the distributor will have one in stock. Let me know what you'd like me to do either here or via email. I hate the idea that your guitar is busted and want to have you 'up and playing' ASAP. If you're tight for funds, email me and we'll see what we can do. Cheers, Howard BTW, Gary. There doesn't seem to be a spare part listing for a 12 string 'R' tailpiece. RIC only lists black or chrome. Does that mean that they are one and the same? I'd hate to get the wrong bit!!! |
